What "cash-pay" really means

Cash-pay (or direct-pay) means you pay your provider directly for care instead of routing everything through insurance. It’s a growing model in psychiatry because it removes the barriers that most frustrate patients — short visits, prior authorizations, and treatment dictated by coverage rules.

Why patients choose it

  • Longer, unhurried appointments focused on you
  • No prior authorizations or referral hoops
  • Transparent, predictable pricing
  • Freedom to pursue integrative, root-cause care
  • Superbills for out-of-network reimbursement

How reimbursement works

If you have out-of-network benefits, you can submit the superbill we provide to your insurance company. Reimbursement varies by plan, but many patients recover a meaningful portion of their costs. We recommend calling your insurer to ask about out-of-network mental health coverage.

Transparent Cash-Pay Pricing

We believe cost should never be a mystery. Willow & Stone is a direct-pay practice — you pay a clear, published fee and skip insurance delays, prior authorizations, and surprise bills. We provide a superbill you can submit to your insurer for possible out-of-network reimbursement.
